A Club Update from Board President, Jeff Purdy

Dear SCSA Membership,

We are pleased to announce that our club will be continuing its partnership with the organization formerly known as Indiana Fire – which will now be operating as the Indy Eleven Academy.  This new name recognizes a strengthening of the partnership and the next logical progression in the collaborative relationship with our local professional team.

To align with this - in the Fall 2024 - we will be transitioning from SCSA Fire to SCSA Eleven.  SCSA will continue operating as an independent organization.

As an Indy Eleven Academy (IEA) affiliate, SCSA will continue having access to various services, including:

·         Player opportunities and attrition to IEA programs such as MLSNext and ECNL

·         Coaching development, education and curriculum development

·         Tournament consultation, participation, and support.

SCSA will also continue its Recreational Soccer partnership with the Indy Eleven which has continued to see increased participation to over 1,000 participants this spring!    This partnership has provided improved access to attend in-person events for both men’s (USL) and women’s (W League, NPSL) professional soccer events.

Per Phil Presser, technical director for the Indy Eleven Academy:

"The idea is to have every child put on a jersey that points them to our only professional club in Indiana.  The passion and ambition this gives players to someday play for or be a part of the professional soccer community is extremely important to us."

As the landscape of soccer in Indiana continues to grow – we are excited to continue this partnership and provide opportunities for our members and coaches.

Best Regards,

Jeff Purdy

President,  SCSA
